The agitator unit is the real focus of the design including the gearbox spec and the way in which a single mountsupports the frame, propshaft assy, coupling, bearing and float guides.
Effluent Sump pontoon
This project was quite dynamic in terms of being my first independent engineering project. Initial quote through to production this has been a great project. Calculations were done on volumetric flow rate, propeller thrust for agitation and buoyancy, The pontoon allows for the Sump of 13 M^3 to empty in 2 hours without sedimentary deposits. The sum feeds a settling pond for irrigation purposes. The previous arrangement meant the pump would operate for 3 minute intervals due to being on a fixed mounting which is inefficient as the pump needed to re pump the head every 3 minutes. Great project, great client.
